September 23, 2022, Guilford, CT -  The Elite Hockey Academy was honored to take part in the 4th Annual LOVE FORE A CURE 2022 Golf Tournament to benefit the non-profit organization of Cure Rare Disease and local resident, Max Herzog.  The event was held on Friday, September 16, at Pine Orchard Country Club. Over $600,000 was raised to support much needed research todevelop life-saving-cures.

Max is a six-year-old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy-a disease in which a gene responsible for regenerating muscles has been compromised, interfering with normal childhood muscle development. Over time, Duchenne patients weaken and eventually lose the ability to walk.  Max will begin gene treatment in 2022.

“We were super excited and honored to be a part of this event. This was just a small way we can give back to the community and support a great cause. ” said Peter Alden, President of Elite Hockey Academy, a friend and neighbor of the Herzog family.
