February 14, 2025 Guilford, Conn., – The Elite Hockey Academy is excited to announce that 18U Academy defenseman, Owen Briggs signed a tender agreement to join the Springfield Pics in the NCDC for the 2025-2026 season

18U Academy Defenseman Owen Briggs signs an NCDC tender with the Springfield Pics. The 6′ 4″ D-man with 60 games under his belt has 1 goal and 9 assists this year has been an asset on the blue line for EHA. Briggs is looking forward to finishing out the next few weeks of the season strong with chances to hoist the PPHL and AYHL trophies. Congratulations to Owen and best of luck on the rest of the season.

“Owen has been a prime example of the development model at EHA. Committed to getting better daily and developed at a rapid pace to earn an opportunity at the next level.” Said 18U Head Coach, Kevin Shand.

Briggs is a native New Cannan, CT and is also a senior at the Notre Dame of West Haven. This year Briggs is earning his high school degree working on core courses, electives, SAT prep, community service and more.

The Springfield Pics play in the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) that is a  tuition-free junior hockey league entirely located in the Northeastern United States. The league and all of its teams are fully united and dedicated to the mission of player development and advancement to college hockey.

On behalf of everyone here at the Academy, we want to congratulate Owen Briggs on this great accomplishment. Everybody here at the Academy has enjoyed getting to know Owen and his family. We look forward to watching Owen grow his game at the next level and climb the hockey ladder.
