The Teddy Bear Toss is a beloved and heartwarming event celebrated by many hockey teams, where fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to our annual fundraiser game on December 16th at East Haven Memorial Ice Rink. The excitement culminates when the home team scores its first goal, prompting fans to joyfully launch their stuffed animals onto the ice in a flurry of teddy bears.
This festive tradition serves a dual purpose: it ignites an electrifying atmosphere in the arena while also supporting a noble cause. The collected teddy bears are eventually donated to children in need, particularly during the holiday season, bringing smiles and comfort to young recipients. The Teddy Bear Toss not only enhances the game-day experience but also reinforces the spirit of community and generosity, making it a cherished highlight of the hockey season.
We’d also like to thank the Hamden Police Department for their generous donations, and collaborating with Elite Hockey Academy to help children in need.
We look forward to seeing you on Monday!
