Elite Hockey Academy is proud to announce the addition of a U17 team for the 2026-27 season, further strengthening its commitment to long-term player development and advancement.

The U17 level will serve as a key transitional step within the EHA pathway, providing players with the opportunity to develop at the right pace before advancing to the U18 level. This structure allows athletes to take on increased ice time, expanded roles, and greater responsibility in a competitive environment designed to prepare them for the next stage of their hockey careers.

The team is open to players born in 2009 and 2010.

The team will compete in the Power Prep Hockey League and play a full schedule of 60-65 games, offering consistent high-level competition throughout the season.

Leading the program will be Head Coach Jake Fuss, an EHA alumnus who brings a strong combination of playing experience and player development insight.

Jake Fuss returns to EHA as an alumnus who understands firsthand the expectations and culture of the academy. A State Player of the Year and state champion at Fairfield Warde, Jake went on to win a Robertson Cup before starring at the University of New England, where he made two Frozen Four appearances. He later played professionally in Huntsville, Germany, and Macon, gaining valuable experience at the next level. Jake brings recruiting insight, recent high-level playing experience, and a genuine passion for mentorship and player development to the bench.

The U17 team is open to both full-time academy students and external players. While enrollment at Elite Hockey Academy is not required, the academy offers dormitory housing for out-of-area players seeking a full immersion experience.

As part of the development model, players will also participate in two weekly off-ice training sessions to support strength, conditioning, and overall athletic performance.

Tryout Information:
April 2 | 4:00-5:20 PM
April 3 | 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
