December 4, 2018

Guilford, Connecticut - Elite Hockey Program had a successful weekend in the East Coast Elite League (ECEL) at the Holiday Classic in Connecticut, November 30-December 2, 2018.  The 16U and 15U teams combined for a 6-2 record. The 16U team went 3-1, taking down Colorado Rampage, Hill Academy, Seacoast Spartans and a shootout loss to the Esmark Stars. The 15U’s went 3-1, with wins over NJ Titans, Boston Advantage, West Coast Renegades and a loss to the Esmark Stars.

“Our entire staff is proud of what the 16U and 15U teams were able to accomplish over weekend,” Stated President/GM Peter Alden. “The players entered the weekend facing some really stiff competition and the players seemed to not only rise to the occasion but thrive under pressure situations.  They played against very high end teams, and the games could have gone either way.  Regardless, they got the job done and this should give them more confidence moving forward.”

“There are no easy wins in this league (ECEL) and I thought we played well over the weekend,” said 15U Coach, Peter Gintoli. “You want it to be easy but it never is. I thought my team had good speed up and down the ice and they competed hard.”

The Elite Hockey Program 16U team will travel to Toronto this weekend for the Hill Academy Winter Showcase and the 15’s get right back into AYHL league action vs top opponents, NJ avalanche and NJ Devils.

ABOUT THE ELITE HOCKEY PROGRAM

At the Elite Hockey Program, we want student-athletes to find a college that matches  their academic and athletic interests.   One of the most frequently asked questions in hockey are, “How do I get noticed?” “What do I have to do to get to the next level?” There is no simple answer, but players must make themselves attractive and visible to programs. The Elite Hockey Program takes a unique approach to help players and families better understand what it takes to play at the next level and how to narrow the gap between potential and performance.   CLICK HERE to fill out a recruit questionnaire and your information will be forwarded to our Hockey Operations Staff.
