Guilford, Connecticut - The Elite Hockey Program has added Colby Drost to its staff to contribute to scouting efforts across the country to continue building Elite Hockey Program into a nationally recognized Tier 1 program. Colby brings experience working at the college, USHL, and AAA levels.

Colby was recently named the director of scouting with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL and will maintain this role, while working for Elite Hockey Program. Over the last 5 seasons, Colby has worked for the Skipjacks Hockey Program and led all recruiting efforts. His work brought nationally recognized talent at the U16 & U18 levels to the Skipjacks. Over 5 seasons, Colby recruited 19 Division I NCAA / Major Junior placements, 17 USHL draft picks, 19 NAHL placements, 3 Players of the Year, 38 league all-stars, and 13 NCDC placements. These college placements ranged across leagues including HockeyEast, ECAC, Atlantic Hockey, WCHA, Big10, and independent programs.

"I am excited to join the Elite Hockey staff and work with Peter Alden in building his Tier 1 program. Everything I have seen is done extremely well and I look forward to working with his staff with the goal of bringing in more high-caliber players to Elite Hockey Program." Said Drost

During the 2015-2016 season, Colby worked as the recruiting coordinator/assistant coach at Skidmore College, where he recruited 13 student-athletes. These players brought the program to its second ever national ranking in program history during the 2016-2017 season. Colby also was in charge of the goaltenders and helped mentor both goalies to All-Conference and All-Rookie appearances.

“We are very happy to announce that Colby Drost is joining our staff of the Elite Hockey Program,” said President Peter Alden. “Colby is a hard working and passionate person that brings  plenty of experience at the NCAA, USHL and midget levels. He will be a great fit and we look forward to getting things started immediately.”

Colby is a former collegiate goaltender that played Division I & III at Niagara University and the University of New England. During his season season at UNE, Colby was a 5-time 'Goaltender of the Week' and was named an All-Conference player. Colby graduated with a B.A.. in History and received his masters from Northeastern University in legal studies.

Colby will begin his work with Elite Hockey Program in December and can be reached via email: Colby@EliteHockeyAAA.com.

WHY THE ELITE HOCKEY PROGRAM?

At the Elite Hockey Program, we want student-athletes to find a college that matches  their academic and athletic interests.   One of the most frequently asked questions in hockey are, “How do I get noticed?” “What do I have to do to get to the next level?” There is no simple answer, but players must make themselves attractive and visible to programs. The Elite Hockey Program takes a unique approach to help players and families better understand what it takes to play at the next level and how to narrow the gap between potential and performance.   CLICK HERE to fill out a recruit questionnaire and your information will be forwarded to our Hockey Operations Staff.
