WHY THE Elite HOCKEY PROGRAM?

At the Elite Hockey Program, we want student-athletes to find a college that matches  their academic and athletic interests.   One of the most frequently asked questions in hockey are, “How do I get noticed?” “What do I have to do to get to the next level?” There is no simple answer, but players must make themselves attractive and visible to programs. The Elite Hockey Program takes a unique approach to help players and families better understand what it takes to play at the next level and how to narrow the gap between potential and performance.

WORLD CLASS COACHES AND HOCKEY OPERATIONS STAFF

The Elite Hockey Program is led by what many experts consider to be one of the top coaching staffs in the northeast. President  Peter Alden brings over 10 years of coaching experience at the Tier 1 level, including an 18U national championship in 2015 with the Connecticut Wolf Pack.  Alden was also a former division one player at NCAA powerhouses, UMass Amherst and Quinnipiac University.  Alden and his team have continued to spearhead the development path of many young players that reach the higher levels in Junior A, NCAA and professionally.

Assistant Directors and coaches, David Crandall and Peter Gintoli, bring multiple years of player development to the table.  Crandall has coached at the tier 1 level at many different levels, as well as working USA Hockey district and national camps, throughout his career. He also serves as a scout for the Youngstown Phantoms in the USHL.  Gintoli played four seasons of Division III hockey for Salve Regina University before turning pro. He’s twice represented the U.S. at the Deaf World Hockey Championships, winning a bronze medal in 2009.

Goalie development is under the direction of Jared Waimon, who oversees the Elite Hockey Program.   Waimon is an Assistant Coach at Quinnipiac University, Regional Mentor for the USA Hockey/Warren Strelow National Goaltending Program, USA Hockey Goaltending Coach/Evaluator; New England and Atlantic Districts.

Strength and Conditioning Coach Mike Bouchard is a former strength coach at Quinnipiac University, who gives Elite Hockey Program players expert instruction to help take their game to the next level.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

While in Connecticut, players are taken care of on and off the ice.  The Elite Hockey Program has a history of providing players with housing opportunities with quality billet families located in the immediate area. The Elite Hockey Program thoroughly screens and provides wonderful housing families. Our families work hand in hand with the organization to provide great direction and support for all our players. Families are screened on their value systems, their ability to provide a safe and clean environment and, of course, great food for our always hungry young athletes.

The Elite Hockey Program is also committed to being active members of the Connecticut community. Players, coaches and front office staff are expected to be involved in the community through non-profit organizations in the local area. Giving back to the community is always a priority for the Elite Hockey Program.
