McGlynn Added to the 18U Coaching Staff!

Guilford, Conn., — The Elite Hockey Program has named Dean McGlynn as assistant coach of the 18U team.  Head Coach Phil Esposito and general manager Peter Alden made the announcement today. McGlynn will join Esposito’s staff full-time for the 2018-2019 season.

McGlynn, 57, joins the Elite Hockey Program after spending the past ten seasons as an associate coach and head coach in the circles of Connecticut hockey.  McGlynn brings more than four years of professional playing experience, which includes playing in the OHL for the Acton Sabres and Orangeville Stonecrushers in Ontario.  In addition, McGlynn has specialized experience in power skating, skills and conducts local Hockey Coaches’ Symposiums. 

McGlynn believes in providing an environment of fun and development in equal balance.  Teach individual skill development, in the framework of a team concept, with emphasis on accountability to your teammates and respect for all authority figures (i.e. coaches and officials). 

After playing professionally, McGlynn attended The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, NY and Yale University in New Haven, CT. He is also certified through Hockey Canada, USA Hockey, CIAC and Rodger Neilson’s coaching clinics in Windsor, Ontario.
