Guilford, Conn.— The Elite Hockey Program College Combine Camp has concluded and we are both pleased and impressed with the effort and attention to detail that the players gave both on and off the ice last week.

Practices were coached by some of the Elite Hockey Program staff along with Matt Deschamps (St. Lawrence), Mike Harder (Colgate University), Scott Mcdougall, (SHU), Bill Riga (Quinnipiac University), Jared Waimon (Quinnipiac University), David Crandall (Youngstown), Kris Mayotte (Providence College), Joe Pereira (UCONN), Matt Michno (UCONN), John Rose (Dartmouth), along with special guests Mike Levine (NHL Vegas Golden Knights) and John Riley (NHL Philadelphia Flyers).

Morning practices were focused mostly on edge work, movement skills, shooting to score, and forward/defense split. Afternoon practices worked on various passing techniques, one-timers, puck support, power skating, and high compete, small area games.

In-between the on-ice sessions, players partook in high intensity speed and agility sessions with Mike Bouchard (MBST Strength Coach), watched Neil Mckinney’s video on "Ways to score at an elite level" (1 Timers, Quick Release, Screens/traffic and area plays), or listened to nationally renowned Bejish Patel from Quinnipiac University as he discussed how mindset is a habit.

Mike Levine, a scout for the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL, also provided his professional advice to players on development, recruiting and what it takes to be an elite level player, on and off the ice.

On the last day, camp ended with a 3 on 3 tournament where the winning team received the "Combine Cup" with a team photo and the losers did 50 pushups with no gloves! It was a great event for all involved.

“Overall, camp was a great success for all other involved. Each player was challenged in one way or another throughout camp. In the end they gained great insight on how to better themselves as player son and off the ice,” said Elite Hockey Program President, Peter Alden.
