Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Program is pleased to announce that Luke Curadi will be Head Coach for the 18U team in  the 2018-19 season.  Curadi will lead the 18U Full season team with Austin Root as the two will enter their second season together with EHP’s highest level team.

A native of Cheshire, CT,  Luke has been a valued member of the Elite Hockey staff since summer of 2016.  In addition to also being 15U Associate Head Coach, Curadi serves as Director of Player Personnel for the Elite Hockey Program, identifying and evaluating prospective players for EHP. Curadi is currently the New England Scout for the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) and Philadelphia Rebels (NAHL).  Curadi, a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), had a strong career with time spent in the ECHL, NCAA D1 and USHL.  In his first season as a Head Coach, Luke has helped several current EHP 18U players to secure tenders/affiliations at the Jr. A level and will have many others moved on by next year.

Entering his second season with the Elite Hockey Program, Austin Root has helped develop and advance players at the midget level for several years.  In addition to coaching 18U, he will also serve as Associate Director of Recruiting, Marketing and Player Development.  Austin is currently on the staff of NAHL Central Scouting.  Along with Coach Curadi, Root also runs the organizations’ summer team Elite Hockey Battalion.  Prior to coaching, Root was a four year letter winner with the SUNY-Canton Kangaroos (NCAA D3), including being named an assistant captain his junior and senior seasons. Upon graduation, Austin earned a degree in sports management.

“Luke and Austin have done a tremendous job at this level and we are more than pleased to have them return to the 18U level," stated GM Peter Alden.  "They put a heavy emphasis on discipline and habits as they know those are two of the biggest factors in what it takes to play at the junior and college level.  Additionally, they work very hard for their players, using their connections and always making calls in order to advance their players to quality Junior programs.”
