Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Program is proud to announce Peter Alden to lead the16U Elite Hockey Program in 2018-19 season. Alden, who brings a wealth of experience as a coach, will look to lead a strong group at the midget AAA level.  Alden will be accompanied by David Crandall who is currently the 15U Associate Head Coach and Director of Player Development for EHP.

Alden, who played junior hockey in the NAHL and Division 1 college hockey at UMass Amherst (Hockey East) and Quinnipiac University (ECAC), has developed and guided many players to play junior, prep, college and professional hockey.  Alden, who has 10 years experience, spent four years coaching as an assistant at Choate Rosemary Hall, Program Director of the Connecticut Wolf Pack and then transitioned to lead as President and General Manager of the Elite Hockey Program in 2016. During Alden’s coaching career, he has reached the Tier 1 USA National Championships three times, including a 2015 18U Tier 1 National Championship, coached three NHL draft picks, over 30 D-1 hockey players and has helped over 100 kids move on to contribute at the junior and college levels. Alden currently resides in Connecticut and is married with four children.

David Crandall, who returns to EHP for a second season in 2018-19, brings an extensive coaching and evaluating background.  Crandall has spent the past 17 years coaching Tier 1 midgets, most recently at New Jersey power house, the Delbarton School. Crandall has also coached teams that have won the Labor Day Tier 1 Face Off and more notable accomplishments that include an Atlantic District Championship, two Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) Championships, an International Silver Sticks Regional Championship and an International Silver Sticks Regional Finalist.  His coaching experience also includes participating for several years in both USA Hockey’s Player Development camps and the Atlantic District Player Development program where he participated as an evaluator, coach and team leader. Additionally, David is currently a Regional Scout for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL).

"This season we have focused on being the best we can be everyday and we have exceeded expectations thus far. Next season, we will take another big step, as we will return a strong core group and will add more likeminded players that are committed to building a positive, strong team dynamic. I’m also excited to work with David Crandall again as we both have a passion for developing players and helping them find their path to play college hockey.” Said Head Coach, Peter Alden.
