Guilford, Conn., - Each week, we recognize our EHA players, whose accomplishments on and off the ice stick out among the rest. The players who are selected represent a balance of athletic achievement, sportsmanship and leads by example.

We are also excited to partner with Bauer that is supporting our players and will provide our EHA players of the week with a Bauer winter hat for their recognition. Bauer Hats will be available for pick up— players will be notified when these hats are available.

Read the following articles below to see an expanded list of this week's EHA "Players of the Week" recipients.

16U Academy
Clayton Collier

This weekend, the 16U Elite Academy squad traveled out to Gilmour Academy for the second of three Power Prep Hockey League Showcase events. It was a successful weekend for the group as they went 2 and 1 in competition. Captain, Clayton Collier, lead from the front scoring 2 goals and 3 assists over the weekend. On Saturday he rose to the occasion and scored a couple massive goals against a pesky BHA team. The timely scoring kept Elite in the game, eventually becoming the victors in shootout fashion. Collier added two assists on Sunday in a winning effort against Maine, bringing his points total on the year to 15 (3G, 12A).

Clayton had this to say about the year thus far, “the team had a great weekend. We have had so much growth this season and I’m glad that all our hard work is coming to fruition. I look forward to the coming weeks and can’t wait to see what else this team can accomplish.”

“All of our D, individually, have taken huge strides this year. With Clay’s size he is heavily relied on in the D zone.. him scoring big goals is a cherry on top.” - Coach Scott Davidson

12U Minor
Jack DeRosa

Jack DeRosa is on a roll for the 12U Minor team and shows no signs of slowing down. DeRosa has wasted no time making an impact this season, tallying points on the scoresheet with game winning goals and effort plays to add assists. He helped punctuate a strong week for the 12U team as he helped lift the team this past weekend vs the NY Saints with a late game winning goal to edge the AYHL rival, 3-2.

DeRosa was asked what it means to me to be player of the week...

"It means that I worked hard and helped my team in any way I could.  I'm really proud to be picked as player of the week. I'm also really happy about how my team played this week too. I'm ready to keep working hard."

Eric Germain added, He does so many things for us. He has been a really versatile player being able to play forward or defense. He is really learning how to play the game the right way and we really enjoy coaching him."

10U Minor
CJ Martin
CJ Martin continues to make the most of his opportunity with the 10U Minor team this season.  Not only is Martin having one of his best defensive seasons to date, he's also developed an offensive bite to his game and also taken on more of a leadership role too.

"He is our leader and safety blanket back on defense. I can always count on him to be in the proper position and ready to make a play. Recently, he’s been more involved offensively creating  several good offensive chances by smart plays on the line. Added Head Coach, Christopher Andreucci
