Guilford, Conn., – The Elite Hockey Academy 18U hockey team will trade in their gold jerseys for pink at its first annual "Pink in the Rink" game on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer. Together, people across the world spread the word about the importance of breast cancer screenings. Each of us has been affected by cancer, whether it is Breast Cancer or another form.

The date is set for October 29th, Elite Hockey Academy is honored to host the “PINK IN THE RINK” fundraiser at Northford Ice Pavilion, Northford, CT at 7:30 pm as the 18U Elite Hockey Academy will face AYHL rival, New Jersey Titans in this year’s game.

“I think it’s really important to raise awareness, and spread the word about cancer in general,” said Peter Alden, President of Elite Hockey Academy.  “Honestly, things like this are a perfect example of something bigger than the game, so to be a part of it is pretty special."

The event is being held to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research in Connecticut. We invite you, your families and friends to come out and watch the Elite Hockey Academy 18U Team take on the NJ Titans and donate to this important cause. Proceeds from this event will benefit "The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital here in Connecticut.

Admission to Pink In The Rink is FREE. Donations are encouraged. T-Shirts, Hats and Hoodies will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

The team will be wearing custom pink jerseys that fans can own.  Jerseys will be available for purchase through November 4th. All proceeds from the jersey sales and sponsors will be donated to "The Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital in Connecticut."
