Elite Hockey Academy helped raise over $6,000 during its "Skate for a Cure" fundraiser earlier this month at the Northford Ice Pavilion. 

The event benefited the research mission of Cure Rare Disease and 6-year-old Max Herzog of Branford, who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare genetic disease that limits muscle development over time.
