Wesley Zolin drafted by the Acadie–Bathurst Titan in the QMJHL

June 28, 2021, Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Academy is proud to announce that incoming 18U forward (Greenwich, Connecticut) was drafted with the 33rd pick in the American Draft in the QMJHL.  The 2021 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League American Entry Draft was held virtually on June 26, 2021. 

Peter Alden, Elite Hockey Academy President said, "Wes is a high energy player that brings a ton of offense and creativity to his game. Wes has good vision and the ability to make great plays under pressure. We are excited to have him in our lineup next year. He's going to be a great asset to our team."

 

Acadie-Bathurst Titan

The Acadie–Bathurst Titan are a major junior ice hockey team based in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada. They are members of the Telus Maritimes Division in the Telus Conference of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team plays its home games at the K. C. Irving Regional Centre. The team won the 2018 Memorial Cup.The dream of every player that enters the QMJHL is to one day reach the NHL. From the fall of 1998 to today, 14 former members of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan have made it to the National Hockey League. Most notably two NHL Alumni include Roberto Luongo and Patrice Bergeron.

About the QMJHL:

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (French: Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec, abbreviated QMJHL in English, LHJMQ in French) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league includes teams in the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The current president of the QMJHL is Gilles Courteau.

The President's Cup is the championship trophy of the league. The QMJHL champion then goes on to compete in the Memorial Cup against the OHL and WHL champions, and the CHL host team. The QMJHL had traditionally adopted a rapid and offensive style of hockey. Former QMJHL players hold many of the Canadian Hockey League's career and single season offensive records.
