May 14, 2021, Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Academy is happy to announce that U18 Premier forward Michael Marquez has been selected by the Twin City Thunder of the NCDC in the 2021 NCDC Entry Draft.

Elite Hockey Academy President Peter Alden is ecstatic for Michael to be selected in the NCDC Entry Draft. Alden believes that Marquez has earned this opportunity by doing things you need to do on and off the ice to be successful. “I’m very happy that Micheal has earned this opportunity,” said Alden. “He’s a guy who is a tireless worker and does everything we ask of him as a staff this year. I'm a believer that if you're a good person, usually good things will happen to you. That is the case for Micheal, as he's one of the best kids to come through EHA the last few years. He's earned this opportunity, and I'm proud of him and look forward to watching him at the next level."

Michael Marquez expressed his gratitude towards the program after being selected by the Thunder. He also thanked his family and his friends who have helped him growing up. “It’s a huge honor to be selected by the Thunder,” said Marquez. “I want to thank my friends and family who have helped me along the way. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them and the sacrifices they have made for me to achieve my dreams. I also wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for EHA as they have made me a better player. EHA has become my second family, and I wouldn’t be here without the people behind the scenes, my teachers, my coaches, and my teammates that I have here at EHA.”

This season Marquez was a role player for EHA doing little things you need to do to win. He put up 21 points in 55 games while also having multiple two-game point streaks. Along with being a solid player on the ice, he’s also a top student that finished with a 95.42 GPA and was named valedictorian of his graduating class last month.

On behalf of everyone here at EHA, we want to congratulate Micheal on this great accomplishment. We look forward to seeing Micheal at the next level and watching what he can accomplish at the next level. To learn more about the Twin City Thunder, click here.
