Guilford, Conn. - The Elite Hockey Academy is proud to announce that 18U Defensemen Luke Stevens has signed a tender to join the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) for next season.

Elite Hockey Academy President and his current Head Coach, Peter Alden is happy for Luke and his advancement to the next level. Alden believes that Luke is getting rewards for years of hard work. “I’m excited for Luke to sign a tender in the SJHL, with an organization like the Klippers,” said Alden. “Stevens has done everything we have asked of him this year. The hard work he has put in through the years is paying off and I believe his best hockey is ahead of him."

Just after signing his tender with the Klippers, Stevens expressed his gratitude towards all of the people that have helped him along the way. Luke thanked his parents, family, his coaches, and teammates for helping him reach this accomplishment. While being excited about the future, Luke is more focused on getting better everyday and taking care of finishing the season strong, before he takes the next step.

“I would not be where I am today without the people who have helped me along the way,” said Stevens. “I want to thank my entire family, who have sacrificed so much for me to play the game of hockey. I also want to thank my teammates and coaches at EHA this year, along with the players and coaches that I have played with throughout the years. This year has been amazing, as the staff and teammates here at EHA have done everything possible to make this year a great season. I’m excited about the future, but we have things to take care of here at EHA."

Luke came to the Elite Hockey Academy this season after spending the last two years at the South Kent School with the Selects Academy. A 6’3 205 pound d-man from Colorado, he showed up to the program known more as a defensive defenseman. But this year, he has exploded offensively, as he has scored 29 points in 34 games and has been on fire since the restart as he has 13 points in seven games, including two hat tricks in that span.

The Kindersley Klippers are a Junior team out of Kindersley, SK, and play in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). Since the 2016-2017 season, the Klippers have been one of the more consistent teams in the league, with three playoff appearances in the last four seasons.
