January 22, 2021, Guilford, Conn - The Elite Hockey Academy is happy to announce that former EHA Defensemen Jake Lammens has signed a tender to join the BCHL's Salmon Arm Silverbacks for the 2021-2022 season.
Lammens, a right shot Defensemen, is entering his senior year suiting up for the Salisbury School. Jake could not contain his excitement for playing junior hockey in Salmon Arm in a statement released by the Silverbacks on the team's website before he heads off to St. Lawrence to play college hockey in a few years. “I am really excited about the opportunity to play for the Salmon Arm Silverbacks,” Lammens said. “On and off the ice Salmon Arm looks great and I can’t wait for next season.”

Jake spent two seasons with the blue and yellow of EHA before leaving for Sailsbury in 2019. During his two seasons with EHA, he played in 80 games and put up 22 points while being a strong defensive presence on the back end. During his last season at EHA, Jake was named an All-Star for both the AYHL and ECEL U16 age group in 2018-2019.

Jake’s former head coach and EHA President Peter Alden is excited for Jake and his future. "Jake is a very versatile defenseman. He has great mobility, sees the ice well, attacks the ice in the offensive zone and has a great mind for the game. We are very proud of him and I'm excited for his next step."

One of Jake's old teammates, Aidan Coupe, saw that Jake wasn't just a good hockey player. Aidan saw Jake as one of the best leaders he's ever played with so far in his young career, even though they only played one year together at the Academy. “Jake is one of the best leaders that I've played with growing up,” said Coupe. “Lammer showed his teammates how to prepare to reach that next level. He showed us that it was not just the on-ice stuff that mattered and that you had to take every part of the game seriously to reach that next level. He is one of the best guys that I have played with so far, and I can't wait to watch him in the BCHL next season.”

Since Jake left EHA in 2019, he has piled up the accolades. Last season, for the Crimson Knights, Jake played in 28 games and put up two points while helping Sailsbury to the New England Championship for the first time Sailsbury has won the New England Championship since 2015. Jake was also drafted by the New Jersey Rockets of the NCDC last summer.

Since 2001, a lot of talent has come through the doors of the Shaw Centre. Currently, they have six active alumni in the NHL and AHL, including Josh Manson, Travis Zajac, Riley Nash, and Chase Priskie. The Silverbacks have 43 ex-players playing Division 1 Hockey or playing hockey overseas in Europe at the moment. Currently, the Silverbacks have nine players committed to Division 1 rosters.

From all of us here at the Elite Hockey Academy we could not be more proud of Jake on his commitment to the Silverbacks. We are all excited to follow Jake as he takes the next steps in his career.
