NEWS: Three 16U Players Drafted in the NCDC!

Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Academy of the East Coast Elite League, Connecticut Hockey Conference and the Atlantic Youth Hockey League is pleased to announce that three (3) players from our 16U Premier team have been selected in the NCDC Futures Draft that was held on January 30, 2020. The The NCDC teams selected players born in 2004 and 2005.  Congratulations to 2004 defenders, Brady Schultz, Peyton Van Buskirk, and forward Frankie Hipp!

All three of these players have been having a great year for the program. U16 Premier Head Coach Peter Alden, is very proud of the players for putting in the work that was needed to accomplish this goal.

“I’m very proud of all three players on getting drafted to the NCDC yesterday,” said Alden. “These players put in a lot of hard work and have a lot of potential. I am glad they were recognized."

Brady Schultz is a defenseman who has made an impact all year long for the Program. Schultz was drafted by the Northern Cyclones, a team based out of New Hampshire. Brady, who was named an ECEL All-Star, this season has been a pivotal part of one of the best defenses in the country. 

Peyton Van Buskirk has been piling up the accomplishments as of late, appearing the AYHL All-Star game at Quinnipiac University and now just got drafted by the Utica Comets. Van Buskirk has been playing some of his best hockey since the new year. This month alone, he has 13 points through 13 games he has played this month. 

One of the newest members of the team Frankie Hipp has made a huge impact since he joined the club earlier this month. He has 13 points in 11 games this month and has been a part of the dynamic line with Tim Mattingly and Brody Trew. Frankie was picked by one of the best run junior teams in the nation in the Jersey Hitmen. 

Elite Hockey Academy has had a lot of player advancement as of late. Earlier this month, U18 players Charlie Cocuzzo, Chase Conlan, and Aidan Coupe signed tenders with the Islanders Hockey Club located in Massachusetts.

NCDC is apart of the USPHL and is the highest level in the USPHL. Players from this league have gone on to many different colleges around the country, including schools in Hockey East, ECAC, NCHC, and other leagues around the nation. The 16U Premier team just qualified into the top four of the AYHL playoffs and look ahead to the ECEL playoffs this weekend in Boston, MA.
