It's official — The Elite Hockey Academy will join the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC).

The Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) confirmed that Elite Hockey Academy successfully applied and was accepted as a full member of the CHC for the 2020-2021 season.

"On behalf of CHC welcome, and look forward to working with you." Said CHC Hearing Panel Chair, Brad Conlan

The Elite Hockey Academy has been able to establish their Midget and Bantam Tier 1 levels and been itching for expansion to build at the younger age groups as well. This initiative to join the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) will allow the Elite Hockey Academy to work with players at all ages and have the opportunity to train the proper way, to enhance their skills and preparation for the next level.

Elite Hockey Program President, Peter Alden said, "This is a big step in terms of the evolution of our program,” said Alden. "By being full members in the CHC, it will now allow us to build teams at the younger levels and provide a ladder of development from mites to midgets and the opportunities to play in the state, regional and national levels."

The Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) is comprised of over 38 teams in the State of Connecticut.   Each level is structured to help meet the needs of the youth player.  To foster the competitive spirit, CHC provides year end state tournaments that provides a pathway to New Regional and National tournaments.

Alden added, "The CHC objectives regarding player development and providing great competition align with ours. CHC is a well-organized league with strong leadership that has a vision of providing competition and advancement to provide the needs of all players. By playing in the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC), it will also allow our players to tryout for Team Connecticut and compete in the state league levels with less travel and a pathway to regional and national tournament.”

Background on the Elite Hockey Academy:

Peter Alden and his staff have successfully operated Tier 1 hockey programs in Connecticut for the past eight years.  Alden started the independent program, the Jr. Bobcats at eight levels in 2010. After two successful seasons, Alden had the opportunity to direct and fully operate the CT Wolf Pack youth organization, through CHC Tier 1 from January 2012 until 2016. During this time, Alden not only filled a void left by the prior operators but successfully built up the program and competed on the national stage advancing to USA Tier 1 Nationals at 14U, 16U & 18U. Most notably, under Alden’s direction, the CT Wolf Pack won a Tier 1 National Championship in 2015.

Alden and his staff have most recently started the Elite Hockey Academy, focusing primarily at the Bantam & Midget Tier 1 levels.  Elite Hockey Academy teams compete in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL), East Coast Elite League (ECEL) & the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC).  Elite Hockey teams will continue to participate in high-level tournaments and showcases throughout the United States and Canada.
