Guilford, Conn.- The Elite Hockey Program will be well-represented in the East Coast Elite League (ECEL) All-Star Game at the Tsongas Center home of the UMASS Lowell Riverhawks on January 9-10, 2020.

The East Coast Elite League (ECEL) game, honors the best players throughout the league. President Peter Alden believes that while it’s a huge honor for the program, it says more about our coaches and players who have put in the work to earn this honor. “To have these players selected for the all-star game is a great accomplishment” said Elite Hockey President Peter Alden. “We could not be happier that our players are being rewarded for their hard work.”

18U Division:

Four players from our U18 team have been nominated to the all-star game, which will take place on Jan. 10 at 10:30 AM. Forwards Aidan Coupe, Daniel Burg, defenseman Charlie Cocuzzo, and goalie Daniel Niewiarowicz were all chosen for the all-star game. All of these players have been huge, as the team is currently in a playoff position heading into the ECEL Winter Classic, which is in two weeks. Forward Evan Brown and defensemen Chase Conlan have also been selected as alternates for the game.

18U forward, Aidan Coupe added, "It's obviously very humbling, especially with the amount of talent there is in the game, on our team, everywhere," he said. "Looking at the rosters, it's one of those things you pinch yourself a little bit but obviously excited to represent our program."

16U Premier Division:

Six players from our U16 Premier team, are heading to the Lowell, highlighted by Cody Spear, who was picked second in the all-star draft,  and named an all-star game captain. Forwards Logan Nickerson, Brody Trew, defenseman Brady Schultz, and Shea Thibault, and goalie Brooks Mclean were also selected to go along with Spear. These players have been huge for the team as they currently occupy first place heading into the ECEL Winter Classic. The U16 Premier All-Star Game will be held right before the U18 game at 8:30 AM on Jan. 10.

The U16 Showcase All-Star game will be held on January 9.

16U forward, Knut Hornquist "It feels good to be recognized, "Just another experience that I can enjoy and it's pretty cool.

Coaches:

In addition to the players, there will be three of our coaches represented at the games. Geoff Marottollo (18U), Peter Alden (16U Premier) and Peter Gintoli (16U Showcase).
