18U & 16U Teams Primed for Weekend Bout at the Tier 1 NE Regionals

Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Program 18U and 16U teams will travel to Marlborough, Massachusetts to play in the New England Tier 1 Regional playoffs this weekend.   Puck drop for both teams will be Friday, November 8th, and continue throughout the weekend.

The semifinals and finals of the New England tournament will be held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts that are set up for qualifying teams on Sunday, November 10, 2019.

About the Elite Hockey Program

18U Team updates

Top scorers to date are Aidan Coupe (11G, 6A 17pts), Charlie Cocuzzo (7G, 9A 16pts) and Kristijan Savovic (11G, 4a 15pts).

The 18U team has been on tear in the Month of October and right into November posting a 9-2 record in the past 11 games.  The 18’s knocked down in-state rival, Selects Hockey Academy on November 2nd in the state play-downs.  The key to their past success is good goaltending and getting contributions from their players up and down the lineup.

16u Team up dates

Tope scorers to dates are Logan Nickerson (11G - 3s - 14 pts), Cody Spear (3G - 10a - 13 pts) and Brenden Coon (7g - 1a - 8pts).  

Strength of schedule counts… When you start to dig a little deeper and look at who they the 16U team is playing to you see some of the top programs in the country for its age group. The U16’s compete agains several top teams in the nation, according to My Hockey Rankings, North Jersey Avalanche, Mount Saint Charles Academy, Neponset Valley River Rats, Florida Alliance, and the South Kent Selects.  The team has gone on to win 11 games while only losing twice and tieing twice for the rest of October. Both losses came in overtime and a shootout.
