The 18U team picks up where they left off..

The 18U team came off a strong month of October and continued its winning ways into November taking on defending national champion Selects Hockey Academy in the Connecticut state playoffs on Saturday evening in Northford, CT.   Senior defender, Logan Hawley scored two big goals that changed the momentum of the game to lift the Elite Hockey Program to win 5-2.  Senior goaltender, Daniel Niewiarowicz stopped 32 of 34 shots and was rock solid in the net.   The 18U team is now 9-2 in their last eleven games and clinched a playoff spot in the NE Regional tournament, November 8-10 at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, MA.  They return to action this Friday vs top ranked Mount Academy.

16U Premier to Focus on the Details..

The 16U Premier team had this past weekend off before they face off against top opponents in the NE Regional Tournament  in Marlborough, MA  this time, November 8-10 for USA district playoffs.  “Our leadership – not just our captains, have come to realize just how important your preparation is during the season,” said head coach Peter Alden. “We’ve come to understand the importance of playing consistently throughout the year and the importance of the details.”

The 16U team is coming off a red hot October month as they 11-2-1 in their past fourteen games.  The 16U Premier team returns to action on Friday, November 8 vs the RI Hitmen.

16U American Makes a Statement

While most of the ranked teams all faired well, the Elite Hockey Program 16U American team made the trip to New Jersey on Sunday to take on second place, NJ Colonials in the AYHL.  The 16U team bussed down as a team and head coach, Peter Gintoli got everyone in the right seats as they were victorious in their efforts, 4-2.   Sophomore forward, Ryan Widders scored twice to get the team going as Jayden billings and Owen Zomb followed suit to the lift EHP to the upset win.  Elite Hockey Program goalie, Patrick Hunt made 22 saves in the win.

"It's was a tough game in a tough environment, so I was real proud of the guys," said EHP Head Coach Peter Gintoli.  "I thought we upped our game from last weekend, blocking shots, winning face-offs and our overall alertness."

13U Continues to Climb..

After climbing back in the AYHL standings last weekend, expectations were high to keep the team moving in the right direction.  Although Saturday, the outcome wasn’t what Head Coach, Frank Butler wanted against the NJ Devils, he reset the focus to in-state rivals, Hartford Wolf Pack.  The 13U Elite Hockey Program started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead as Jovanni Smeriglio notched his first hattrick of the season on Sunday.  It wasn’t before long that Cristian Konstantino, Cam Gardner and Ryan Flynn helped finish the job with goals in the 6-1 win. It was all the more impressive to see how the 13U team regrouped after Saturday’s loss, as Connor Towle stood tall in net on Sunday, Towle help build a 5-0 lead through two periods and never looked back.  The 13U team gets back to work this week and reloads for a trio of home games this weekend vs NJ Titans and VT Dynamo.
