Guilford, Conn., - The Elite Hockey Program is proud to announce that 16U Head Coach, Peter Gintoli, has been announced as the Captain of the U.S National Deaf Hockey team. 

Gintoli has been on the US Deaf Hockey team since 2017. But to be named captain, it's a whole different feeling for Gintoli. "It's a huge honor to be named captain," said Gintoli. "Anytime you can represent your country, it's a huge honor. But to be named the captain, it makes so much more special."

He was apart of the 2017 US Deaf National Hockey Team that won a gold medal at the world championships. He played for the team after he played for the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in the SPHL. Peter also played four years at Salve Regina University, in Rhode Island. While at Salve, his team made the National tournament his senior year. 

Gintoli has been apart of the Elite Hockey family for the past three seasons. He has established himself as a crucial part of our program since being hired. " Peter has established himself as one of the best coaches we have Elite Hockey Program," said Alden. "He brings a unique experience, that allows him to develop his players at a very high level." 

At EHP, we are so proud of Peter and this accomplishment. We can not wait to see what you accomplish as the captain of the National Deaf Team.
