2019 – 2020 Season                     FACT SHEET                         ELITE HOCKEY PROGRAM

Welcome to the Elite Hockey Program!  This email contains lots of information that is specific to our program, so please read it carefully.

WHAT DOES EHP LOOK FOR IN A PLAYER?

Elite Hockey Program looks for student athletes who have a strong commitment to hockey, academics and personal growth.  Our players must be diligent in school, hockey, training and a willingness to give their all in each area.

HOW DO I APPLY?

All prospective players must complete an online inquiry form and register for tryouts April 10-14, 2019.

 

LEAGUES:

PRACTICES:   Tuesday (Team), Wednesday (Skills) and Thursday (Team) – cancellations may occur due to weather, school or tournament commitments.

GAMES/TOURNAMENTS:  Games are primarily Saturday and Sunday, and Friday games for tournaments/showcases.  The players will miss 3-5 days of school during the season mainly on Fridays. Midget level teams typically go to 8-10 showcases in the Northeast.  Bantams go to 4-6 showcases in the Northeast.  Each team will play 60-70 games per season.

GAME & PRACTICE LOCATION:  All practices and the majority of Home games will be held at the Northford Ice Pavilion, Northford, CT.  18U and 16U Teams will have designated locker room at Northford.

GOALIE INSTRUCTION: Goalie instruction for the upcoming season will be headed by Jared Waimon and Pro Crease (http://www.procrease.com/).   Schedules will be set up prior to the season.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: All midget players will receive professional training from certified trainers.  Teams will train 2x per week with Mike Bouchard at MB Sports Training at the Northford Ice Center (http://www.mbsportstraining.com/).  Bantam level teams train with Mike Bouchard, 1x per week at an additional cost.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT:  Each first practice of the week will incorporate fast paced drills, small area games and positional training.  EHP Coaches and guest coaches will be present at these sessions. Goalie training will also be provided on Thursdays throughout the season at practice.

GAME VIDEO:  Each team will participate in video sessions on a weekly basis.  Video will include team and individual analysis from the Elite coaching staff.  NHL, NCAA and other sources will also be introduced to illustrate skills/strategies as needed

EQUIPMENT REQUIRMENTS: Navy Helmet, Elite gloves and Elite pants are required for all players.    Please note ripped or torn pants will not be allowed on the ice.  This must be purchased before April 14, 2019
